Today is Epic Dream Day

Epic Dream

“Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads armed with nothing but their own vision. Their goals differed, but they all had this in common: that the step was first, the road new, the vision unborrowed, and the response they received — hatred. The great creators — the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors — stood alone against the men of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible. The power loom was considered vicious. Anesthesia was considered sinful. But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won.”

-Ayn Rand

Dear world,

I am declaring today, Monday, February twenty-ninth of the year two thousand and sixteen, Epic Dream Day! So what exactly is #EpicDreamDay? It is both a day of celebration and proclamation. A day to celebrate your story and to proclaim your vision, desire and purpose.

Why today? Why would I try and gather people together at the last minute to share their epic dreams publicly? Well, it’s simple, I, along with many others, maybe even you, are in a state of desperation and we need hope and encouragement to get us through this difficult time.

Today is “Leap Day”, an extra day representing an opportunity to seize the day! A day to let go of our differences and fears and inspire and uplift each other while publicly declaring our most epic dreams. Today is your day to be courageous and share your dreams with other dreamers.

So, what exactly is an “epic dream”? Well, it’s a futuristic story about a hero and his or her strong desire, which takes the form of a goal or purpose. Believe it or not, YOU are a hero. You have had the courage to keep living. You are brave, noble and strong and I commend you.

Please take today to honor yourself as a hero and honor my wish to celebrate Epic Dream Day with you! Dedicate an hour of your day to document your “epic dream” and then share it publicly with the world. I invite you to use #EpicDreamDay in your social media posts.

I will be personally searching that hashtag and trying to support as many dreamers as I can. I encourage you to do the same, as it has been my experience that the more people support each others dreams, the more dreams come true. Yes, dreams really do come true if you believe.

Wishing you smiles and sunshine,

The Crafty Cutie (Tatiana)

“Imagination has brought mankind through the Dark Ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity. Imagination has given us the steam engine, the telephone, the talking-machine and the automobile, for these things had to be dreamed of before they became realities. So I believe that dreams – day dreams, you know, with your eyes wide open and your brain-machinery whizzing – are likely to lead to the betterment of the world. The imaginative child will become the imaginative man or woman most apt to create, to invent, and therefore to foster civilization.”
