Back to School

Back to School Blog Hop sept2013

Welcome to the 2013 Susan K Weckesser Inc Design Team Back 2 School Blog Hop.  Our Design Team and Guest Designers have created a week’s worth of great projects to bring you inspiration and fun — all themed around Back 2 School. We encourage you to visit each member’s blog, leave a comment and maybe find a new blog to follow. After you have visited all participating team member’s blogs, go back to THE STARTING POST at Susan K Weckesser’s My Sweet Earth Blog and leave a comment letting us know which project either inspired you or touched your heart. Don’t worry, you have all week to take your time and go through the blogs. We’ll feature a few each day at Susan K Weckesser Inc, but will draw names from comments left on THE STARTING POST for our grand prize.

Here is the list for ALL team members, but again don’t panic, we will highlight a few each day so you can come back and visit a few at a time if you want because we know how busy you Moms – and Dads – are! You have until Saturday night 11:55 PM CST to leave a comment at Susan K Weckesser’s My Sweet Earth.

I find it is very fitting that school started the day after Labor Day.  This holiday is held to honor the “worker” in appreciation for the work they do and I felt very honored to take my children back to school.

As a mother of two boys, a 4 and 6 year old, there is no greater celebration than the 1st day of school! This years experience was extra special because I got to see just how different my boys were by the outfits they picked out to wear.

On this fabulous first day of school I asked both boys what they wanted to wear. My youngest, the rambunctious one, picked out a Superman shirt and matching cape. While his meticulous older brother decided to go with a collared shirt and a suit jacket.

I captured this classic moment with my camera and decided to feature it in a scrapbook layout for this special blog hop.

Supplies used for this layout included but was not limited to:

Background page, “Beautiful Daydreams” by Susiebee Studios Inc.

Ground, 2″ cut from “School Days Alphabet Jumble” by TCP Studio.

Letters & house, cut out of “Live, Love, Create” by Susiebee Studios Inc.

House door, 2 inked “Vintage Wood Mini Rulers” by Maya Road.

Windows, cut from “Ruler Ribbon” by Tim Holtz – Idea-ology.

Crystyler Crystals on sun, applied with Crystyler 20 by Norma Rapko.

Photos were printed on photo paper and cut out.

Words were typed on an old typewriter and cut out.

Hoped you enjoyed this project and are inspired to try out some of the amazing products I used to create it!

Wishing you smiles and sunshine,

Tatiana

Loving the colours and the imagination you and the boys have. However, what’s the name of the eldest? It would be nice to see a similar box with his name in it.
